-Work with or under the direction of a Project Manager, along with a full design team, on a wide range of design projects including site development, transportation, and municipal & public works projects.
-Development of conceptual design, engineering analysis of design alternatives, drawing / detail preparations, construction cost estimating, specification preparation, construction site inspections, and report preparation.
-Communication with internal and external clients.
-Preparation of grading plans, master stormwater design, and master utility systems design.
-Perform permitting assistance and coordination efforts.
Day to Day:
A company in the Southeastern United States area is looking for an Aviation Engineer to join their team. They would prefer for this person to sit in either Nashville, TN. or Orlando, FL. but they are open to letting the right person sit in any of the company's current office locations if the ideal candidate has contacts and current workload in the region. This person will have at least 8 years of experience within the aviation market and will have the opportunity to have critical role in the development of the aviation design team and possible build out their own team here in their region of expertise. This individual will be an excellent communicator as they will be needing to give proactive updated to clients as well as be comfortable wearing many hats. A Bachelor's degree is a must, and an PE certification is preferred but not required. 60% of the time this person will be working on project development, 30& of the time they will be out marketing S&ME to potential clients, and 10% of the time they will be doing company admin work that comes with this role. This person must be involved in the design development aspect of this role from finding a client, to working with the design team, to construction, out to completion. Someone who has done multiple projects at different airports is highly desired.
– Certified Professional Engineer
– GIS experience
– Current list of contacts who will bring in work
– Civil 3D Experience (high plus)
– Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Electrical Engineering (can only be electrical if they have airfield development or aviation background)
– 8-10 years of full cycle design experience within aviation sector
– Is Familiar with FAA advisory circulars
– Knowledge of geometrical layout of airports
– Familiarity with grading requirements of AOA, Runways, Taxiways, Aprons, Etc.
