Program Summary:

MUFG Americas is embarking on a business and technology transformation to effectively deliver five key business imperatives: Growth, Business Agility, Client Experience, Effective Controls, and Collaboration. To accomplish these imperatives, MUFG has launched a Transformation Program built upon the following foundation Pillars:

 

  1. Core Banking Transformation Program
  2. Data Governance, Infrastructure & Reporting Program
  3. Technology Modernization Program

This position supports the Core Banking Transformation (CBT) Program.  CBT is a multi-year effort to modernize our deposits platform with a world-class digitally-led and simplified ecosystem for consumer, small business, commercial and transaction banking to deliver exceptional customer experience and provide the bank a competitive advantage in the market. Our customers will benefit from streamlined and automated processes that simultaneously will provide the bank business process efficiencies and operational cost savings.

 

Role Summary:

The Core Banking Transformation technology team seeks a talented Data Analyst who is collaborative and passionate about conducting data analysis and mapping the data between new FIS Profile 8/ Digital One and MUFG legacy systems.  This role is responsible for understanding the data requirements from MUFG and FIS systems, sourcing / mapping data from source systems to target systems and defining the logic for data transformation.  

As a business / data analysts, you will focus on coordinating the data analysis activities for CBT Data Gateway interfaces, defining the data transformation logic, and assessing the intended data transformation quality including collaborating with developers for reviewing the data model and testing.
 
Major Responsibilities:

Working with the Core Banking Transformation Executives to:

  • Performing requirements elicitation, gathering, clarification and analysis, and participating in the reviewing of Functional Design Document and in the creation of Detailed Design Document
  • Developing strong understanding of FIS profile 8 and MUFG data in deposit and related operation domain
  • Conducting data analysis to source the data from FIS profile 8 or MUFG source system and define the data transformation logic
  • Performing Proof of Concept to ensure the data transformation logic feasibility and quality
  • Documenting the data mapping and all the transformation logic in Analytix 
  • Creating test scripts and conduct testing for data transformation and conduct root cause analysis for detects
  • Creating and maintaining design library, product matrices, business glossaries, and other required documentation for data quality and data governance initiatives that aligned with the architecture principles; and supporting data catalog required for data services.
  • Responding to inquiries from engineers / data architects  / QE
  • Providing SIT test plan and UAT test plan support
  • Functioning as a product Subject Matter Expert (SME), supplying knowledge on required subject-areas and systems; and acting as a liaison for business and IT  stakeholders

Required Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor'sdegree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science  or related field, or equivalent professional experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • 8 years of experience in a highly regulated environment (e.g., financial, government, healthcare, etc.)
  • Ability to manage simultaneous tasks
  • Interest in adapting new technologies and learning the data definition & data behaviors
  • Strong attention to detail and Strong SQL skills
  • 5 years of experience in Meta Data Management, Data Analysis and Data Mapping Experience
  • 5 years of technical writing experience in FDD, DDD and Data Mapping Documentation
  • Strong understanding of Data Model design – Data Warehouse / Data Vault
  • Excellent collaboration skills and a passion for problem solving, with the ability to work alternative coverage schedules
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required due to the dynamic nature of collaboration with leadership, customers, and other engineering teams

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Understanding of FIS profile 8 ODS and Digital One Data Architecture
  • Experience in the financial services industry especially in Retail Banking
  • Experience in Core Banking Replacement Project
  • Experience in ETL transformation Coding
  • Awareness of data governance aspects like metadata, business glossaries, data controls, data protection, canonical models, etc
  • Ability to travel out of state if necessary
