We are looking for an IT Technical Specialist that enjoys being in the middle of the action. The hired individual will possess a good working knowledge of desktop/laptop computers and troubleshooting Windows operating systems for end users. Additionally, the IT technical specialist will work on Windows Servers, including Hyper-V and be able to troubleshoot server issues. The successful candidate will be fluent in Networking and configurations of Switches/Routers/Firewalls commonly found in Small-Mid Size businesses.
The hired individual will be interacting with end users, troubleshooting issues on systems and providing general technical support both on-site at headquarters and remotely at satellite offices.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the management of company-wide IT Infrastructure (Network, Server, Storage, Phone, Cloud), End-User Computing (Desktop, Laptop, Mobile) & Software Applications (AutoCAD, GIS, Bentley products)
Computer Hardware & Software Troubleshooting
Installation and management of software (updates, tools, etc.)
Engage with our Managed Service Provider (MSP) to select and implement IT systems in support of business goals
Customer Service Support over the phone or on-site
Manage all software licenses and renewals
Set up mobile devices
Work with the Chief Operating Officer to budget IT expenditures
24x7x365 on-call escalation support (after hours on an emergency basis only)
Travel to regional offices and remote job site as required
Qualifications and Skills:
3+ years of related experience in a similar environment
Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience in a professional / corporate IT environment with troubleshooting/networking knowledge and providing effective technical support is a must
Strong background with Windows 10, Microsoft Office, Windows Servers, Firewalls/Routers/Switches
Desktop support knowledge; troubleshooting Microsoft Office & Engineering software (e.g. AutoCAD, GIS)
Knowledge of Windows and Servers, Active Directory, Exchange On-Prem & Office 365
Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
Effective problem solver with the ability to deliver strategic and tactical solutions as appropriate
Must work well under pressure
Microsoft Certification (Preferred)
