Network Architect (Data Center)

Insight Global is looking for a Network Architect with strong Nexus Data Center experience to work a hybrid schedule, on-site with one of our larger healthcare clients in Akron, Ohio. The network architect will be responsible for below:

1. Network Design Strategy Assumes accountability for overall physical network design strategy to ensure that network meets current and future business needs. Acts as contact for network design on changes to existing network, new building construction, remote site connections, and other network integrations. Investigates new networking technology offerings, recommending solutions as they become viable. Engineer/Maintain a complex network to support core, distribution, and access networks, cloud-based production systems, wireless networks, and datacenters.

2. Network Security – Determines best methods to ensure network security by investigating best practices, services, software, and hardware that detect/report/prevent network intrusions and/or ensures network security. Creates policies to ensure that proper settings/configurations to networking equipment are in place. Establishes and maintains auditing strategy to ensure that policies are being followed.

3. Documentation Assumes lead responsibility for developing and maintaining detailed documentation of network infrastructure. Investigates and recommends tools to aid in documentation.

4. Integration – Works with IT System Engineering, IT Security, and IT Telecommunications to facilitate work on areas of associated, overlapping, or converging technologies.

5. Support – Analyze and troubleshoot network communications, reported problems, failures, and bottlenecks. Coordinate with Vendors to resolve circuit issues and, as needed, track carrier outages to resolution. Support SolarWinds network monitoring system with adds, moves, changes and overall network system health. Support enterprise wireless infrastructure with new installations, modifications and decommissions. Analyze system logs and identify potential issues. Participate in on-call rotation

SD/WAN OR MPLS

Experience working within a Cloud environment (office 365 or Azure preferred)
Bachelor of Science in IT, Computer Science, Engineering OR related field experience

5+ years experience in a large enterprise network environment (1000+ users)

CCNP or higher Cisco certification (CCDP, CCIE, CCDE)

Working knowledge and comfortable handling all things Nexus Data Center (switching, routing, high-level troubleshooting)

Has worked on a team of 4+ people

Top-tier troubleshooter (for all things networking & ability to guide/lead engineers
