An employer is looking or a NOC Voice Engineer to work with either Charlotte, NC or Longview, TX. This perosn will be reporting directly to the NOC Manager. This Voice Engineer will be primarily responsible for the troubleshooting of voice services for the companys customers and the troubleshooting of equipment, which includes; IBGs, Cisco LAN switches, and telephone handsets to support Hosted PBX, SIP Trunking, TDM, POTS. Additional responsibilities will include:
-Troubleshooting customer voice troubles as the point of escalation for Tier 1 NOC
-Testing of new devices and configurations
-Completing tasks, responding to emails and voicemails, updating records
-Managing and coordinating 3rd party vendors/suppliers on handling escalated issues through to resolution
-Keeping the NOC Manager informed about ticket status and issues regarding the troubleshooting process and issues that may impact client relations
-Creating and maintaining Voice troubleshooting documents for training
Additionally, this role will be working onsite in the office during first shift hours, Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm.
-CCNA, CCNA Voice and/or Adtran ATSA/IPBG certification(s)
-3+ years of hands-on experience in a Voice Networking role
-General knowledge of voice technologies; PRI, SIP, Analog telephony, LNP, Hunt group, etc.
-Familiarity with PSTN terminology; LNP, TN, CNAM, etc.
-Experience with PBX/PBX technology, or the ability to learn this platform in an acceptable amount of time
-Experience with Linux command line and batch scripting
-Experience with Adtran IP Business Gateways, or the ability to learn this platform in an acceptable amount of time
-Ability to input data accurately across multiple systems
-Skilled at managing assigned tasks with little supervision
-Excellent communication skills and customer service mentality
