Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Project Manager.

The Project Manager (PM) is an integral part of the Rotrosen Lab (RL) and the Greater New York Node of the Clinical Trials Network (CTN), managing requests for funding and the administrative aspects of these collaborations.

The Project Manager, in collaboration with the Research Scientist, Program Manager, and Principal Investigator, will facilitate funding submissions to NIH/NIDA, develop budgets, manage subcontracts, process invoices, perform financial analysis, and monitor expenditures relative to project goals. The Project Manager will also participate in developing progress reports and other necessary reporting.

The Project Manager will primarily be working as part of the Lead coordinating center on CTN-0100: Optimizing Retention, Duration, and Discontinuation Strategies for Opioid Use Disorder Pharmacotherapy. In conjunction with lead investigators at Columbia and Harvard Universities, the study has been developed and will be managed by the NYU Grossman School of Medicine. This is a large multi-site study involving 18 treatment sites and 13 CTN Nodes and will recruit 2,640 participants across the two study phases. At least 35 subcontracts and services agreements are involved.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develops budgets, monitors financial reporting, initiates and renews subcontracts, and financial record-keeping for CTN-100, including year-to-year negotiation with participating sites.
  • Develops and analyzes strategic plans in the context of a multi-year study complicated by restricted
    funding and year-to-year carry-forward constraints.
  • Follow-up on issues and open items pro-actively. Respond to emails and all requests in a timely
    fashion. Ensure departmental and sponsor deadlines are consistently met.
  • Use good judgement when making decisions, understanding the implications of such
  • Communicate clearly and succinctly, initiate necessary communications to both internal and
    external colleagues in order to clarify issues and processes.
  • Provide timely and concise communication to research partners, internal departments and other
    divisions, in the review, processing, and provision of information related to the financial obligations.
  • Liaise with relevant department grants management, Clinical Research Support Unit (CRSU), and
    Sponsored Programs Administration (SPA).
  • Ensures that study activities are carried out in accordance with sponsor guidelines and budget
  • Maintains/enhances professional growth and development through participation in seminars,
    professional affiliations and internal training sessions
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

To qualify you must have a BA or BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business
5+ years financial experience
Advanced Excel proficiency
Strong analytic, analysis and reporting skills
Exceptional attention to detail
Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint) proficiency
Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently
Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management; must work and communicate effectively
with internal and external parties
Effective multi-tasker and problem solver; detail oriented

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with NYULH systems, including ePRO, PBI, PeopleSoft, etc. for managing administrative
and financial functions is preferred
