Quality Engineer

Full Time San Antonio TX Gables Search Group
The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all quality standards are
met to be in compliance with customer requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Availability to work any shift;
 Perform initial sample/layout inspections;
 Establish quality standards on new or takeover parts, completing and
submitting all APQP and Validation protocol documentation per IATF
16949 and ISO 13485 standards
 Develop and Maintain process quality documentation;
 Develop and perform measuring programs and fixtures for production
parts;
 Evaluate and acquire test/measurement equipment;
 Troubleshoot quality problems and related issues;
 Perform statistical and capability analysis of new and ongoing parts and
processes using SPC software
 Perform and oversee layout inspections;
 Support calibration process and system;
 Develop Advanced Product Quality Planning Documents, i.e. Control
Plans, FMEAs, Flow Charts, etc;
 Provide design and/or conceptual input for specialized gauging and
fixturing;
 Assist in any Quality activities in plant, including but not limited to,
assisting Quality Manager with customer complaints or in plant Quality
issues;
 Perform special studies as required;
 Support as internal auditor and during customer or 3rd party audits;
 Perform training as needed to quality and production personnel for
measuring, quality requirements and documentation;
QUALIFICATIONS:
 5 years experience in plastic injection molding, required.
 3 years related quality experience, required.
 Ability to interface effectively with Department Heads and customers.
 Experience in automotive and/or medical devices industries, required.
 4 year college degree, desired.
