Security Engineer

Full Time Atlanta GA Insight Global Parent

Insight Global is seeking a Security Engineer to aid in the continued development and refinement of threat and vulnerability management of the internal technology environment. The position will interact primarily with the technical team in IT, as well as occasionally internal employees from a variety of business departments.

Key Responsibilities:

Keep the Security team and IT leadership aware of risks to technology, and business operations

Identify, research, and recommend appropriate controls to mitigate technical risk

Plan and execute internal and external vulnerability scans and assist as needed with remediation; includes infrastructure/systems level, and application layer vulnerabilities

Continually analyze, recommend and implement security posture improvements for, server infrastructure (Windows, Linux and Azure), databases (SQL/MySQL/MongoDB), and web applications (internal and SaaS)

Evaluate and analyze security levels and recommend adjustments based on understanding the business risk

As needed, assist in assessing risks of 3rd party vendors

Mentor, teach, assist, and collaborate with other team members and engineers

5+ years of hands on and progressive information security design and implementation experience in a security engineering role

Expertise in more than one of the following areas: operating systems security, cloud security, security operations

Applicable certifications in any of the following (or related fields) CCNA or CCNP – Security, GIAC, CISSP, CCSP, Security +, CEH
Bachelors degree preference of Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience

3-4 years of relevant work experience in a security organization, technical environment or IT department

Experience as a Security Operations Center Analyst, Cyber Security Incident Response or Computer Emergency Response Team member, or similar

Robust understanding of information security principles and core technologies (CIA, identity management, privacy, DLP, networking and web protocols)

Strong knowledge of data security fundamentals and best practices with prior responsibilities of protecting information assets

Strong understanding of networking technologies, operating systems, information security, virtual infrastructure, Active Directory, encryption, certificates, web applications

Excellent written and oral communication skills, including operational documentation

Ability to work effectively with multiple corporate cultures, including technical and non-technical personnel
