The Maritime Systems Division at Leidos has an opening for a Mechanical Engineer in our Sterling Va. location. Primary Responsibilities

  • Design of mechanical systems using SolidWorks CAD tools
  • Conduct analysis and testing of mechanical systems
  • Develop tests plans, conduct tests, and document results
  • Manage small to medium sized engineering projects
  • Work closely with the Leidos Production team and external vendors

Basic Qualifications

  • Must be a US citizen and ability to obtain Security Clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • Requires BS and 4 – 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 – 6 years of prior relevant experience
  • At least 5 years direct experience in mechanical engineering design experience
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks 3D CAD design tools
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency with SolidWorks FEA tools
  • Experience with shock, vibration and temperature testing
  • Experience with COTS electronic and electro-mechanical packaging
  • Demonstrated experience in the integration of electro-mechanical systems
