How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

The Operations technology team at Delta is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to provide technical expertise in engineering software solutions to maintain and enhance OCC & DC applications.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Lead technical team and provide guidance and deliver product
Respond to Level 3 Incidents and provide an RCA
Go through existing Java and Node JS application source code and documentation to understand implementation
Provide bugfixes for incorrect implementation and enhancements to handle new requirements.
Work on Java, NodeJs applications, DevOps Automation Scripts(Jenkinsfiles, Ansible Scripts, Unix Shell Scripts)
Work on identifying data issues using RDBMS Tools
Provide automation solutions for alerting using SumoLogic and application logs
Participate in Scrum Ceremonies(Daily standups, Grooming, Planning, Demo, Retro)
Maintain, update and support existing software features and solutions.
Write and maintain technical documentation.
Effectively contributes to building the overall knowledge and expertise of the technical team

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

High School Diploma, GED, or High School Equivalency
Embraces diverse people, thinking and styles
Consistently makes safety and security, of self and others, the priority.
5+ years of software development experience is required.
Technical lead – experience leading the team and providing guidance and support to team
Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Java/J2EE experience and NodeJS
Experience working on Spring Boot Framework, Microservices, RESTful APIs, Apigee, JBOSS or other containers, Oracle/SQL
Experience drafting OpenAPI Specs
Worked on modeling RDBMS systems
Worked on NoSQL systems
Experience working with one or more ORM/JPA frameworks
DevOps Automation experience(build scripts, CICD)
Experience working with Docker and kubernetes
Aware of Core AWS Services
Experience in Agile methodologies, and DevOps tools (GIT, Jenkins)
Strong communication skills with no hesitation to share your ideas
Reliable, produce quality work, take pride and ownership in your work
Can work both independently and love to collaborate with a team in a fast-paced environment
High level of professionalism, passion and a sense of urgency to make things happen.
Proven track record of building application from group-up
Must be an effective and efficient problem solver.
Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for U.S.-based job, if not currently employed by Delta Air Lines, Inc.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

Experience in Cloud Technologies (AWS is Ideal) and application migration to cloud is highly preferred.
Bachelors Degree is Computer Science, Information Systems or related field is preferred.
