Position Description

CGI Federal is looking for a Sr. Cloud Architect that is experienced in developing and supporting AWS and Microsoft Azure hybrid cloud environments. As a Cloud Architect, the individual will manage the customer's future transition from on premise environments into hybrid-cloud architectures. The role requires the ability to provide new services effectively and optimize existing environments. In addition, the Architect will play a strategic role in proposing new cloud solutions for existing and future clients for our International Diplomacy Assistance and Commerce Business Unit.

Your future duties and responsibilities

• Infrastructure and network troubleshooting support pertaining to VPC, security groups and COLO
• Providing a solution to migrate to migrate workloads into AWS and Azure
• Generate ad-hoc reports based on client requirements leveraging AWS CLI, Python or other AWS supported SDK
• Introduce new IAM roles, policies based on client requirements
• Act as subject matter expert (SME): Develop SOP, recommend best practices to assist the agency in developing their AWS and Azure governance model and support IT operations
• Be available for potential on-call support to an agency on a rotational 24x7x365 basis
• Adhere to the agency's change management process while implementing changes, and document the entire change proposed.
• Work with different contractors/vendors supporting ongoing effort of various integrations to AWS or Azure
• Ability to develop and run test plan(s)
• Technically support and answer questions during the weekly in-person/conference call meetings
• Great coordination and logistical skills with team and customer stakeholders to ensure changes are well communicated and executed
• Technically support AT&T and Verizon MTIPS connections
• Technically support Equinix Cloud Exchange Fabric connections
• Understanding of Agile, DevOps and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) is strongly desired
• Gain approval for testing and implementation through the technical review board (TRB) and change control board (CCB) meetings
• Ensure the process is fully documented
• Implement with no outages
• Participate in future technical challenges if required by the proposal team
• Work is located in Fairfax and Washington DC. Travel limited. Parking provided when required

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

• Bachelor's Degree with 12 years of IT working experience minimum
• DoD Secret (Minimum), TS or higher preferred
• Must possess an AWS Solution Architect Professional certification, as well as a second certification (preferably either Azure or AWS related)
• Minimum five (5) years of hands on working experience with AWS and Azure. Experience must include: working with AWS CloudFormation, AWS Lambda and AWS CLI, AWS Console and Cloudwatch.
• Aware of current AWS and Azure technologies to formulate new solution and/or make recommendations to better the current business process
• Experienced with developing Governance, and establishing a Shared Services framework
• Must be experienced setting up AWS VPC's, NACL's, and Security Groups
• Must be knowledgeable about AWS and MS Azure in IAAS, PAAS, and SAAS services
• Must have subject matter expertise on the following PAAS and SAAS AWS offerings: AWS RDS, AWS Elastic Container Service AWS Elasticsearch, AWS Elastic Container Registry, AWS EKS, AWS Cassandra, AWS Elasticache, AWS Sage Maker, AWS EMR
• Proficient in creating and producing proposed cloud solutions to future customers face to face
• Proficient in creating and producing proposed cloud solutions to future customers using MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Visio
• Proficient in research, technical writing and good oral communication
• Experience performing right-sizing and cost optimization
