Sr DevOps Engineer

An employer is looking for a DevOps Engineer to join an agile Federal project team based in Columbia, Maryland. Major responsibilities include:

Partner with the Program Manager and Technical Lead in delivering efforts on Cloud infrastructure support, the DevOps approach, Code quality analysis, CI/CD implementation, and overall technical solutions.

Build libraries, modules, and packages for continuous support of AWS VPC infrastructures and AWS ECS / Fargate management.

Develop Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) processes leveraging GitHub and Jenkins to deliver quality software while reducing time to release.

Implementation of infrastructure as code (IoC) platforms such as Terraform and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.

Setting up and administering AWS infrastructure using CloudFormation / Terraform templates

Lead efforts on innovating the AWS tool set in order to keep our process nimble yet fully reliable.

Administer and troubleshoot Linux based systems.

Perform infrastructure cost analysis and optimization.

Strong knowledge of DevOps / DevTestOps / DevSecOps best practices including continuous integration, continuous delivery, software development life cycle (SDLC).

Experience with system capacity monitoring and forecasting applications utilization.

Experience with network devices such as load balancers, firewalls, routers, and switches.

Experience with security tooling such as BurpSuite, OWASP ZAP, InSpec, or SonarQube

Experience with Atlassian tools including Jira and Confluence.

Experience in creating deployment pipelines from scratch

Knowledge of cloud security, security groups and access controls, securing S3 buckets and IAM configurations, understand the principles of least privilege.

Knowledge of Git; repository tools and best practices.
5+ years of experience with AWS Infrastructure design/deployment (S3, CloudWatch, API Gateway, EC2, etc.).

5+ years of experience automating infrastructure, testing, and deployments leveraging infrastructure as code through leveraging common tooling (Ansible / Terraform / Chef / Puppet) with continuous integration tooling (Jenkins / CircleCI / Travis CI).

Experience and understanding of one or more different agile methodologies, including Scrum, Lean, or SAFe.

Passion for designing and delivering systems with Service Reliability, simplicity, and defining success through measurable outcomes.

AWS Associate or Professional Certification(s).
