Under limited supervision, this position provides primary support for the systems and storage infrastructure, including architecture, design and implementation. This position is also responsible for ensuring a secure and available infrastructure is deployed. Develops and establishes operating standards and procedures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs all assigned duties in compliance with internal processes and external regulations. Actively reviews existing processes for continued relevance and champions change for improved quality, service, efficiency, and business value. Where relevant, brings compliance issues to the attention of management.
Assures quality customer service to all customers.
Maintains good attendance and punctuality per the absence policy
Evaluates recommendations concerning hardware/software upgrades and provides guidance to managers for strategic planning purposes.
Researches, analyzes, and designs complex systems, including writing specifications, preparing documentation and performing implementations. Plans, organizes, schedules and tracks activities to meet established deadlines.
Provides primary support for systems hardware and software. Oversees installation, configuration, and testing of new or upgraded systems hardware and software.
Reviews hardware and software installations. Adjusts and tunes configurations to ensure uniformity, performance, reliability, and security.
Manages systems design and implementation efforts and establishes appropriate priorities.
Interfaces with customers and vendors to ensure that requirements are met and goals are accomplished in completing system or software changes.
Supports the establishment of infrastructure standards and procedures and helps educate users on infrastructure policies.
Supports the development and implementation of infrastructure security policies, plans and procedures (e.g., security architectures, operating system firewall policies and security data collection systems).
Remains abreast of changes and developments in the industry. Establishes and maintains a network of professional relationships both inside and outside the corporation.
Uses available software and hardware tools to evaluate the impact of new applications on systems performance and makes recommendations for minimizing any impact on performance.
Evaluates projects involving infrastructure, researches the technical alternatives, and makes recommendations for technical solutions.
Assists in developing and monitoring assigned budgets.
Performs all other duties, at the discretion of management, as assigned.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Advanced knowledge of Linux or Windows and related tools required.
Knowledge of application systems and their impact on systems design and implementation strategies required.
Knowledge of project planning and control required.
One or more of the following certifications (or other vendor equivalents) preferred.
- CompTIA Linux
• Five years of experience in the design, implementation, support and management of systems required.
Without completion of at least one of the certifications listed under Licenses/
Ten years related experience required.
Experience with systems design and architecture.
Experience supporting 24×7 Mission Critical systems
- System automation tools
- WebLogic / WebSphere
- VMware Administration
- Apache Web Server
- Bash or Python scripting
- JVM Administration (i.e. WebLogic, Tomcat)
- Automation (i.e. SaltStack)
- Redhat / Oracle Linux
- Extra Hop
- Experience in either health care or a regulated environment
Must possess the skills and abilities, both technical and interpersonal, to successfully perform all assigned duties and responsibilities.
