Leidos is hiring a Test Engineer to work with a Government-Contractor team providing a near real-time, geospatially accurate Common Operating Picture (COP) to support mission requirements.  This COP enables sharing and reuse of geospatial intelligence across multiple function areas in support of military operations.  The Test Engineer will support systems responsible for processing, exploitation, and dissemination of multi-discipline and multi-sensor intelligence, mapping, and weather information to weapon system platforms and Warfighters.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for software verification and validation, including test planning, development, execution, analysis and associated documentation.

  • Assists in the development of the test strategy in order to meet the release schedule.

  • Coordinates testing activities, supports bug reporting and tracking and software test processes.

  • Responsible for writing tests, executing those tests, and reporting the results.

  • Initiates and analyzes problem reports and change proposals.

  • Develops strong cooperative relationships with engineering and management teammates to achieve end-to-end product quality.

  • Ensures that hardware/software under test implements the functionality specified in all approved requirement documents and that it performs as expected from the customers perspective.

  • Must have knowledge of Government security policies and familiarity with security-related technologies and auditing tools.

  • Designs, constructs and implements manual and automated tests that thoroughly exercise the product from the perspective of the customer.

  • Assesses system and software level requirement specifications, software design, interface design, test, and other development related documentation as needed.

  • Assists with implementation of the enhancements, including documentation, instruction and hands-on- training of others.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Geographic Information Science, Computer Science, Cartographic Science, Geology, Social Science, Environmental Science or related technical field, and 8 years' experience; or a Master's degree in related field and 6 years' experience; 4 additional years of related experience will be acceptable in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.

  • Basic understanding of software development life cycles.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on client-facing discussion.

  • Experience working on large and complex codebases.

  • Working knowledge of organizational and test management software like JIRA, Miro and Confluence.

  • Must have Secret or higher clearance.

  • Test automation/ recursive testing knowledge is a plus.

  • Ability to liaise with other teams within the Geospatial world and interoperate with organizations throughout the space

  • Ability to communicate findings to technical and non-technical colleagues.

  • Military or contractor experience within the geospatial workspace / area of expertise.

  • Clearance Requirement: An active Secret level security Clearance is required to be considered for this role along with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $87,100.00 – $157,450.00

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
